A Survey of Malaria Transmission, Knowledge about Malaria Disease, Symptoms and Treatment

A questionnaire was distributed in Elobied, North Kordofan State, Sudan, to collect data on malaria transmission, malaria parasite, knowledge of malaria symptoms, malaria attack and malaria treatment. Analysis of the questionnaire indicated that malaria is an important health problem in Elobied, (88.2%) had malaria. The knowledge about malaria transmission, parasite, symptoms, and treatment is high. More investigation is needed in the area of malaria disease for possible resistance genes to some drugs.
