A patient-centred evaluation of phantom skin wetness as a sensory symptom in people with multiple sclerosis

•A noticeable but unknown proportion of people with multiple sclerosis (pwMS) report the sudden experience of wetness on a dry skin site, i.e., phantom wetness.•Leveraging a large database of responses (N = 757), our survey results confirmed that phantom wetness is fairly prevalent amongst pwMS (i.e. around 1 in 3 people experiences it).•The occurrence of phantom wetness correlates with specific individual characteristics and its experience share common themes amongst pwMS.
