摘要

•MSCs offer substantial therapeutic potential, but are notoriously hard to transfect.•Various tyrosine-modified linear/branched PEI/PPI-G4 were tested for siRNA delivery.•Some candidates show high knockdown efficacy and biocompatibility.•PPI-G4-Y dendrimers are found most efficient for siRNA transfection into MSCs.•High gene knockdown is achieved in the absence of cytotoxic and genotoxic effects.
