摘要

•Radiation-induced carotid plaques (RICPs) are associated with radiation therapy.•They are difficult to distinguish from atherosclerotic carotid plaques (ASCPs)•We identified six triglycerides that overrepresented in RICPs versus ASCPs by LC–MS.•We used DESI–MSI to characterize the spatial distribution of the identified lipids.•These triglycerides were localized in plaque collagen fiber regions.
