A Novel Constellation Selection Strategy of Multi-Satellite Joint Positioning.

More and more space debris can cause great harm to spacecrafts in orbit. The most important technology to solve this problem is the high precision positioning and tracking of space debris. However, the main problem facing this technology is that the coverage ability of the existing constellation is insufficient and the single-satellite positioning accuracy is difficult to improve. In this paper, we use the space-based multi-satellite positioning method to solve this problem. We establish an orbit coverage model and design a constellation configuration which can achieve seamless coverage to the target area. We derive the error model of space debris positioning in three-dimensional space and propose a multi-satellite constellation selection strategy for target positioning. The simulation results show that our constellation selection strategy can improve the positioning accuracy of space debris.
