Office buildings occupancy analysis and prediction associated with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic

•Analysis of the long-term occupancy measurement data for 2 offices is presented.•Over 60 million of data were collected and analysed for different pandemic periods.•ELM-SA occupancy prediction model reliability is tested under pandemic conditions.•Model prediction accuracy is strongly dependant on small numbers of occupants.
