Intention and lock with intention

A computing device requests access to an application object from a remote storage system so that application functions can be executed locally without the need for main memory application resources. The accessed object is associated with an intention in the storage system and locked. The locked object is combined with the intention to prevent the computing device not executing the intention from accessing the object. Intention definition requires one or more times of operation executed by the requested object, and the operation is sequenced into intention steps and stored into the storage system. After the intention steps are executed, the computing device stores an log entry representing completion of the steps into the storage system. The locked object is kept locked till the log entry indicates that each intention step is completed. Different computing devices can unlock the locked object by executing any uncompleted step of the intention associated with the locked object.
