Construction of Artemisia sphaerocephala Krasch. Polysaccharide based hydrogel complexed with pullulan and gelatin crosslinked by ferric ions

•The complexed hydrogel exhibited a significantly enhanced gel strength.•Pullulan or gelatin was entangled with ASKP by hydrogen bond or electrostatic force.•The molecules interaction contributed to a semi-interpenetrating dense network.
