Neural mechanisms underlying the role of fructose in overfeeding
Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews(2021)
摘要
Central actions of dietary fructose advances obesity by promoting overfeeding. Dietary fructose (F) orchestrates concerted action from multiple interdependent and reciprocally-connected brain systems that are important for the control of feeding behavior. It increases the orexigenic drive to feed, and coupled with the loss of cortical inhibition, cravings can lead to feeding, which would otherwise be inhibited. These outcomes promote overfeeding and are exacerbated in obesity.
