Precision forming of thin-walled hollow components with the complex surface by self-adaptive non-uniform pressure

•The thin-walled hollow component with the complex surface is formed precisely by self-adaptive non-uniform pressure.•The theoretical model of self-adaptive non-uniform pressure of viscous medium acting on the cylindrical blank is established.•The springback in small curvature surface and excessive thinning in transition of circular arcs are solved.•The experimental equipment is designed and hollow turbine blade is manufactured as a validation of the proposed method.
