Photo-enhanced acetone adsorption on δ-MnO2 nanoparticles: A step towards non-invasive detection of diabetes mellitus

摘要
•δ-MnO2 nanoparticles were synthesized with and without PDMS by precipitation method.•Introduction of PDMS fastens the reaction time.•δ-MnO2_PDMS nanoparticles are smaller in size and appears more porous.•δ-MnO2_PDMS show higher interaction towards acetone in UV light and dark conditions.•δ-MnO2 nanoparticles will be suitable candidate for acetone detection in diabetes.
