•Jurassic mineralized Tongshan porphyries were derived from Neoproterozoic juvenile crust.•Difference in the subduction depth of the slab generated heterogeneous juvenile crust.•Fertile porphyries have high whole-rock Th/Yb and zircon Ce/Ce* and Ce/Nd ratios.
