Regeneration of heavy metal contaminated soils for cement production by cement kiln co-processing

•Cement kiln co-processing of heavy metal contaminated soil was investigated.•Cr was the major concern.•The contaminated soil can replace clay by 3% wt and satisfy all requirements.•Both cement industry and soil polluter can benefit from cement kiln co-processing.
