Guided wave propagation in multilayered periodic piezoelectric plate with a mirror plane

•A plane wave expansion method is developed to calculate the dispersion relation of multi-layered periodic piezoelectric composited plates.•The band structures of di_erent guided wave modes are calculated sepa-rately, which help to extract speci_c wave mode from multiple wave modes.•The mode bandgaps calculated by the proposed analytical framework are veri_ed by the transmission spectra obtained by _nite element method.•The inuences of piezoelectricity and con_guration of the unit cell on the band structures of each guided wave mode are investigated by the developed method.
