Mixing dynamics of diethyl ether and chloroform

•Mixing dynamics of diethyl ether with chloroform is nonlinear due to hydrogen-bonded complex formation.•Spectral and concentration profiles of mixture components were obtained by using of MCR techniques.•Mixture components consist of molecular complex, unbound chloroform and unbound diethyl ether.•The proposed theoretical model explains the dynamics of mixing of diethyl ether with chloroform.•Theoretical model takes into account complex formation revealed via FTIR spectroscopy with further MCR analysis.
