摘要
Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is one of the most important and widely grown vegetable crops throughout India. Typical symptoms of root rot were observed in an experimental field of ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi (India), during July-August 2019 with an incidence of 25%. Based on morphological characteristics and multi-locus sequence-based analyses, the pathogen was identified as Fusarium vanettenii. The pathogenicity test was also done to prove Koch's postulate. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of F. vanettenii causing root rot disease on tomato in India.
