摘要
commissioning team have confirmed that skin surveillance in solid OTRs should come under Dermatology Specialist Services and therefore be funded under national (NHSE) specialist commissioning and not local commissioning by the Clinical Commissioning Group. In order to consider the likely funding required to deliver this service across the region, we have used healthcare resource group codes for adult kidney transplant patients (the largest group of OTRs) within the region as a surrogate marker of the number of patients that are likely to require skin surveillance. We present the steps taken to formalize and operationalize the Harwood guidance into local practice. The importance of sharing resources in order to promote patient equity is highlighted.
