Thermodynamic evidence of the ferroelectric Berry phase in europium-based ferrobismuthite Eu2Bi2Fe4O12

摘要
•Structural and magnetic arrangements of minimum energy demonstrate the planar arrangement of Eu and Bi cations.•The minimum energy magnetic state of the material corresponds to that of a G-type antiferromagnetic material.•Ferroelectric polarization as a result of the Berry phase is described.•Density of states with and without Berry phase made it possible to establish the semiconductor character of the material.•Thermodynamic properties in the presence and in the absence of the Berry phase allow to establish the ferroelectric transition temperature.
