摘要
We aimed to study the physiopathology of the reduction of amniotic fluid in postterm pregnancies (>41 weeks). We enrolled 125 women with no complications during pregnancy, delivering postterm, with a Doppler velocimetry examination performed within 3 days before birth, subdivided in 2 groups on the basis of the Amniotic Fluid Index (AFI): reduced when AFI < 5 cm (n=34) and normal when AFI greater than or equal to5 cm (n=91). We found no differences between the two groups for all Doppler velocimetry parameters studied (UA PI, MCA PI and UA/MCA ratio), for neonatal weight, Apgar at I and 5 minutes and placental weight. We concluded that in normal postterm pregnancies, the physiological reduction of AFV is not related to alterations in Doppler velocimetry parameters, nor to birthweight or neonatal Apgar scores.
