Synthesis And Structural Chemistry Of Some Tin Complexes Of 1,3-Dihydro-1,3-Dioxo-Alpha-(Substituted)-2h-Isoindole-2-Acetic Acids In Subvalent State

Some tin(II) complexes of 1,3-dihydro-1,3-dioxo-alpha-(substituted)-2H-isoindole-2-acetic acids having general formula [C(O)C6H4C(O)NCH(R)COO]2Sn, where R = -H, -CH3, -CH2C6H5, -CH(CH3)2, -CH(C2H5)(CH3) and -CHR = -CH2CH2- have been synthesised by the reaction of anhydrous tin dichloride with sodium salts of N-protected amino acids in refluxing tetrahydrofuran solution. These derivatives have been characterised by elemental analyses and molecular weight measurements. A square-pyramidal geometry has been suggested on the basis of spectral evidences.
