Superior Vena Cava Syndrome In Patients With Lung Cancer

Superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS) is the clinical manifestation of SVC obstruction or severe reduction in venous return from the head, neck and upper extremities. Lung cancer is one of the most frequent causes of SVCS. This syndrom is an acute oncologic emergency with typical clinical features. It is necessary to recognize SVCS as early as possible, so that adequate and urgent treatment can be applied.
