A health economic assessment of air pollution effects under climate neutral vehicle fleet scenarios in Stockholm, Sweden

•The health economic impact of the scenario was based on life-time disease costs.•The EV scenario reduced health costs by €29 000/year per M vehicle kilometers.•Without the higher weight among EVs, an additional 9% cost reduction was estimated.•Costs increased by €12 000/year per M vehicle km's with 50% use of studded tires.•The scenario reduction of CO2 could be as high as €131 per ton CO2 in health costs.
