摘要
The incidence of vulvar high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) (VIN usual type), considered a premalignant lesion, has been increasing in recent years with an incidence of 5 cases per 100,000 women in the United States. It is associated with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and risk factors for viral persistence. In some situations, especially in immunosuppressed patients, multicentric and multifocal HPV-induced diseases are observed. The purpose of this review article is to update specialists, in order to help better manage the disease. For this narrative review, we retrieved eligible studies after performing a systematic electronic search in PubMed. Based on this review, we will present the terminology and histological characteristics of the precursor lesions, risk factors, diagnosis, forms of treatment and follow-up.
