Observations On Mycorrhization Of Pecan Seedlings With A European Truffle

We evaluated the mycorrhization potential of Tuber borchii (Vitt.) on pecan seedlings. Two year old seedlings in a greenhouse pot study were inoculated and assayed six month later. Our results show that pecan will form mycorrhizae with the European truffle inoculum. So, the northern pecan cultivars/varieties may have a chance to bear high fruit in the Hungarian climate.
