Simultaneous and rapid screening and determination of twelve azo dyes illegally added into food products by using chemometrics-assisted HPLC-DAD strategy

•Chemometrics-assisted HPLC-DAD for screening and determination of twelve azo dyes has been proposed.•Twelve azo dyes can be successfully eluted within 6.5 min.•The proposed strategy can simultaneously detect analytes in different food products.•Both ATLD and MCR-ALS have the advantage of “mathematical separation”.
