CNC machines intelligent fault diagnosis and prediction system framework based on GrC (Granular computing) is proposed in order to solve the difficult problems of knowledge information acquisition and improve fault diagnosis accuracy in practice. Based on RS knowledge acquisition by the attributes' reduction, attributes' value reduction and the rules' reduction. The attributes reduction algorithm is achieved by using Binary Granular Matrix (BGrM). This method is applied to fault diagnosis and prediction of CNC machine tools. It's proved that it is feasible in practice.
