摘要

•Mercury vanadate NPs were successfully synthesized by the microwave-assisted synthesis method.•The crystallinity and crystal structure of the MV NPs was analyzed using powder XRD.•Surface morphology and elemental analysis were analyzed using SEM and EDX•Optical properties were studied using UV–Vis spectroscopy.•The photocatalytic activity against two different dyes of methylene blue (MB) and methylene red (MR) was evaluated.
