Analysis Of Sterol Lipids As Carbamates In Metabolic Syndrome

Background and Aims: In human plasma, targeted lipidomic MS analyses are still superior to untargeted approach in some issues, such as detection limits. However, the presence of highly abundant isobaric compounds (cholesterol) complicates the separation; therefore, sterol derivatization lowering detection limits and column load brings an advantage. The aim of this study was method development for analysing sterol lipids such as noncholesterol sterols and oxysterols including isobaric species in human plasma.
