First contribution of paleoparasitology to the study of coprolites from the Neolithic site Serteya II (NW Russia)

•Paleoparasitological analyses were performed on Neolithic coprolites from Russia.•Four taxa of gastrointestinal parasites were detected in coprolites.•The parasitic assemblage allows to define a canine origin of the material.•This is the second record of parasites from coprolites in this region.•The results allow discussing the human/animal relationship during the Neolithic.
