Exploring the antifouling performance of non-bactericidal and bactericidal film for combating marine biofouling

•The non-bactericidal films have durable antifouling ability in natural marine environment for 9 months.•Although bactericidal films have anti-adhesion effect under laboratory conditions, but the anti-adhesion effect is not durable.•GSR has lower elastic modulus and compression modulus, which is beneficial to inhibiting bacterial adhesion.
