Theoretical study of the pressure effects on the electronic and magnetic properties of Sc3In

•DFT calculations performed on weak itinerant ferromagnet Sc3In.•An applied pressure modifies the electronic structure.•Density states, corresponding to the Sc-d orbitals, decreases with pressure.•The increase of TC with pressure in Sc3In implies an increase in the exchange interaction parameter of the electrons, occupying Sc-d orbitals.
