摘要
Reliability ofwaterproof design of electric connector is a crucial factor for functionality of digital controlled machinery operations. This paper contains a test procedure developed for multivariable accelerated testing of electrical connectors exposed to simultaneous vibration and humidity. The main hypothesis in this study is that the motion of the connector causes movements between the connector parts and this movement has an influence on the seep through of moisture into an electrical connector. From the field measurement results the frequency content of the vibration time signal is analysed and the most dominating frequencies are used in laboratory experiments by using an electric shaker. As identifying methods of the seep through visual inspection, fluorescent penetration liquid and resistance change of the connector have been used. The paper presents the accelerated test environment as well as test procedure and results of two different types of waterproof electric connectors.
