Degree Of Ordering Of Fe-3 (Si1-X, Al-X) Intermetallic Compounds Prepared By Using Vacuum Arc Melting And Annealing

Three kinds of 3Fe/(1-x)Si/xAl (x=0.6,0.4,0.2)Fe3Si based intermetallic compounds were prepared by using vacuum arc melting and Annealing. In the present work, Al was used as alloying elements to adjust the fabricated materials long-rang order (LRO). Meanwhile, the fabricated materials were characterized by XRD, SEM, EPMA, etc, and calculated their LRO quantificationally. The result showed that the LRO of Fe-3(Si1-x,Al-x) intermetallic compounds decreased with the increase of Al. Obviously, after vacuum arc melting and annealing, the ordered phases of 3Fe/(1-x)Si/xAl (x=0.6,0.4,0.20) were Fe-3(Si-0.33,Al-0.67). Fe-3(Si-0.67,Al-0.33) and Fe-3(Si-0.80,Al-0.20). Respectively, the order degrees of the three ordered phases were 0.701, 0712 and 0.742.
