Whitening Polyester Fabric With Fluorescent Whitening Agent Ob-1

Fluorescent whitening agent (FWA) is usually applied to improve the whiteness fabrics contained with natural as well synthetic fibres. FWA OB-1 normally used in plastic production, but it lacks application in polyester fibre. The knitted polyester fabric was whiten with FWA OB-1 with exhaust method. To explore the extent of whiteness, the variables including mass of OB-1, temperature, time and pH of bath solution were investigated. Subsequently, an orthogonal experiment method included the variables were carried out to inspect the influence order of the factors. The outcomes revealed that the FWA OB-1 is capable of improving the intensity of whiteness on the knitted polyester at a desired level. Among of the variable, pH of the bath has not apparent impact on the whiteness.
