Influence Of The Operating State Of Overhead Transmission Line On The Traveling Wave Velocity

The relationship between the transmission line's distributed parameters and the traveling wave velocity is analyzed based on the equation of wave in transmission line. The actual operating state of transmission lines (the conductor temperature, environment temperature and atmospheric pressure) is discussed in order to provide a basis for correction of the traveling wave velocity under the real operating state of the overhead line. The results show that the influence is not very much. The greatest error caused by a single factor is just 6.3524m over a 100km-long lines.
