Rinodina Pityrea Recorded For The First Time From North America
BIOMONITORING, ECOLOGY, AND SYSTEMATICS OF LICHENS: RECOGNIZING THE LICHENOLOGICAL LEGACY OF THOMAS H. NASH III ON HIS 65TH BIRTHDAY(2011)
摘要
Rinodina pityrea, a recently described European species, possesses type B spore development, Dirinaria-type spores with ornamented walls, a blue-grey epihymenium, consoredia and lack of secondary substances. In Europe it is primarily a corticolous and lignicolous species but also occurs on concrete. The first North American record is from the ruins of a concrete basement in the Boston Harbor Islands National Park Area, Suffolk County, Massachusetts and the species should be sought on other substrates in eastern North America.
