Analysis of recovery time under load conditions and energy dissipation of superconducting tapes with electrical insulation for SFCL applications

摘要
In the paper the results of experimental research on the return time to the superconducting state of superconductor tapes with and without layers of electrical insulation have been presented. The tests were carried out in conditions in which the density of energy generated during the surge current flow and the transfer of this energy to liquid nitrogen correspond to the operating conditions of superconducting material in superconducting fault current limiter. The tests were carried out using a test current that simulated the automatic reclosing operation during a short-circuit. The research results may be useful in the process of design and construction of superconducting fault current limiters and the coordination of power system protection settings to ensure proper automatic reclosing operation.
