Supporting Occupational Health And Safety At The Workplace Of People With Cognitive Impairments With A Speech Driven Interaction System

People with cognitive impairments need special care to make their life safer when they perform self-determined actions. For a self-dependent conduct of life work and to give contribution to society by work is an important aim. But workplaces with machines include a considerable risk that they hurt themselves. For people with cognitive impairments it is hard to keep every work step in mind. This limitation can induce hazardous moves which can put them in danger. Therefore, in order to prevent injuries, it would be helpful to guide those persons through their working procedure. But nevertheless this assistance should be low-key and always support self-confidence of the person. We try this by providing them with a mobile system that gives hints about their working steps at the place they need this information. This mobile system also has to adapt itself to the abilities and disabilities of the individual users, because they can lose attention if they are overwhelmed or underchallenged.
