Multilevel converters can manage electric energy adding a low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), with good behavior on their variables and fast dynamic performance. The importance of the power converter control leads to manage the variables in order to track the references into all operating region and therefore may inject the energy into the system disturbance independence of. Therefore, this works employs predictive control technique in a single-phase multi-cell topology to inject power coming from a solar array to the grid, imposing a fast dynamic performance and reactive power compensation. In addition, predictive control together with a SPWM modulation technique fix the switching commutation spectrum and cancel the dominant harmonics throughout the cells of every phase. Finally, the control design is corroborated by simulation results including several tests to see the closed loop system perform.
