摘要
Bickerstaff encephalitis (EB) is an inflammatory demyelinating disease of the brain stem secondary to an extra-neurological infectious disease. The challenge of autoimmunity creates a physio-pathological similarity with the Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) characterised by a peripheral neurological disease. its association with the Bickerstaff encephalitis is not common. These two neuropathies usually follow an acute infectious disease. We present the case of the Bickerstaff encephalitis associated with the Guillain-Barre syndrome occurring in the aftermath of a left upper lobectomy for a bronchial adenocarcinoma and in the context of reactivation of the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV).
