Neuromechatronics With In Vitro Microelectrode Arrays

This chapter focuses on recording neural network activity in vitro (outside their normal biological system) through microelectrode arrays, an electrophysiological recording method that captures extracellular voltages of a neuronal network and proceeds to explore how in vitro neural networks can be combined with robotics to create hybrid systems that are composed of biological brains and artificial bodies.
