摘要
This experiment describes the usage of a "Medica Card" that is an IC (integrated circuit) card containing patient's medical data distributed to each consenting discharged patient in advance. The Medica Card recorded important personal documents submitted by patients' personal physicians. Subjects were hospitalized patients at Kizawa Memorial Hospital from Minokamo and surrounding areas. 14 area ambulances were equipped with Personal Digital Assistants (PDA). Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers used to scan cards each time they interacted with patients. Using the card was able to make dispatch time was getting shorter, and report more accurate information. Stroke patient care is time-critical and Medica Card allows immediate report of accurate patient data by EMS providers facilitating rapid dispatch and treatment.
