Modelling Of A Pump-Storage Units Supplied From A Common Tunnel

This paper describes the development of a simulation model representing multiple pump storage units supplied by a common tunnel and connected to a power system. Matlab simulation software was used to build a model to evaluate the dynamic performance, and the operational strategies of individual hydro units used for frequency control of the system under any loading conditions. The effect of supplying the penstock of each unit from a common tunnel on the performance of the station was included in the study.
