Modern Anchorage Devices In Orthodontic Therapy: A Literature Review

TADS were one of the most discussed topics of the last decade. It started in the 90' and experienced in the last 15 years an extreme development. The review analyzes the use of mini-implants and mini-plates as orthodontic anchorage, to understand the factors that seem to affect the success rate. The main topics addressed the mini-screw and mini plates studies are as follows: success, failure stability and survival, damage caused and root proximity, dental movements, optical microscopy, torque and strength, placement and location of the mini-screw.
