摘要
We report here the first use of a vertically aligned copper oxide (CuO) nanowire array in an alternating current-driven zinc sulfide (ZnS:Cu)-based powder electroluminescent (ACPEL) device. As a result, the CuO nanowire-enhanced ACPEL device exhibits a significantly improved brightness of >95 cd m(-2) under drive conditions of 300 V and 5 kHz. It can maintain a high brightness (similar to 90 cd m(-2)) during continuous operation over 360 h. This facile strategy for fabricating the electroluminescent devices provides the prospect of simple, cost-effective, highly stable, and energy efficient next-generation lighting and display components.
