摘要
Plant root monitoring systems directly observe the growth status of plant roots in Plexiglas soil columns without damaging the plant, providing real-time and dynamic data of plant root formation, transpiration, and root growth throughout the day. The small retractable windows on the Plexiglas soil columns are used to monitor and sample the rhizosphere soil for moisture, nutrients, temperature, and microbiological indicators, allowing for the analysis of various physiological and biochemical indicators. The plant root monitoring system can also be used for root pruning experiments, which can reduce errors caused by single-field experiments and thus providing a way to conduct intensive study of plant roots functions. The system is easily maintained, widely used, and operates effectively.
