摘要
eKLISI is a Greek pilot project, which implemented and demonstrated a national pilot application of the pan-European in-vehicle emergency call service, widely known as "eCall". eCall is a project of the European Commission intended to bring rapid assistance to vehicle occupants involved in a collision anywhere in the European Union. The eCall service is estimated to have the potential to save up to 2500 fatalities annually in EU-27 when fully deployed, to reduce the severity of injuries, bring significant savings to society in healthcare and other costs and reduce human suffering(11). Since November 2011, the eKLISI project has prepared Greece for the implementation of the eCall service, which will be obligatory for all EU member-states from 2015. The tests of the automatic emergency call system (eCall), within the frame of the pilot national research project eKLISI, have been successfully concluded. This paper presents the eCall prototype system and describes the system design and implementation aspects.
