摘要
This paper presents a machined virtual impactor with the small size of 40 mm x 15 mm x 10 mm. The FEA simulation approach is adopted to explore the air flow state in the virtual impactor. And the silicon dioxide (SiO2) particles experiments have proved that the virtual impactor has a good cutting performance and achieved the cut-off diameter of 2 mu m at the inlet flow rate Q = 90ml/min. The small size and the remarkable micro-particles separation ability enable the VI be a candidate with great potential for portable particulate matter (PM) detection applications.
