摘要
Work-process-orientation is a new concept in vocational education and training (VET). Structure and content of a work-process-oriented curriculum (WPOC) are derived from a "typical professional task" in an occupation. This new curricular framework for VET is called "learning arena". This paper analyzes the characteristics of a learning arena and identifies technical requirements to support an online or blended WPOC. Based on these requirements we suggest an approach to systematically support learning by doing within a WPOC. The approach can be characterized as: guide the learning process according to the corresponding WPOC model, enable doing by integrating work-related application tools, support learning by embedding associated learning materials in application situations, and conduct outcome-based assessment by collecting and evaluating work results. The implementation of a dedicated e-learning environment adopting this approach is presented.
