This paper introduces a new type of sealing structure which can be used for sampling sediments at depths of 11,000 m. The sealing structure can effectively prevent the sample from leaking and maintain the in-situ pressure of the sample. Wedge block seal belongs to the category of contact static seal, its principle is to generate a closed sealing ring belt by exerting a force on the sealing surface, so as to prevents the medium from flowing out to meet the sealing requirements. The structure has better pressure-holding capacity than traditional sealing structure, and can also be used for deeper seabed. The performance of the sealing structure was simulated and analyzed by ANSYS software, and the wedge block structure was optimized. The simulation results show that the optimized sealing structure can meet the requirements.
